Hiring Process for Georgia State Patrol

  2. PHYSICAL FITNESS ASSESSMENT

    The Physical Fitness Program is an evaluation of absolute standards (same job = same standard). The standards are based upon Cooper Institute standards reflective of the minimum fitness level an individual must possess to perform their job regardless of their age or gender. The following events will comprise the assessment:

    Event Minimum Standard
    Push Ups (#) 21 in 1 minute (rest in the up position)
    Sit Ups (#) 30 in one minute (hands held over the ears, rest in the up position
    1.5 Mile Run
    You will be required to run 1.5 miles within 15 minutes and 34 Seconds (15:34)

Only those persons whose conduct, character and behavior does not discredit either themselves or the Department of Public Safety (DPS) will be employed.
